Article versions and status

Knowledge Base

Every article has a status that reflects where it is in its life, and JOATOS keeps a version history so you can see how it's changed.

Status

  • Draft — a work in progress, not yet finished.
  • Published — finalised and ready for the team.
  • Archived — retired but kept for reference, and kept out of the way in normal browsing.

Move an article between statuses with the Publish and Archive buttons on its page, or by setting the status while editing. The status shows as a coloured badge in the list and on the article.

Version history

Whenever you save a change to an article's title or body, JOATOS snapshots the previous version first. On the article page, a Version history section lists each snapshot with its timestamp.

  • Select a snapshot to view it read-only in a dialog.
  • To roll back, copy the old content from the snapshot into the editor and save — this is a manual step; there's no one-click restore.

Changes to only tags, category, or status don't create a snapshot.

Notes & tips

  • Archive rather than delete when an article is out of date but still worth keeping — you retain its history.
  • The version history is your safety net: edit freely, knowing the previous text is always recoverable.
