Viewing packages and services
↩ Servers
Beyond stats, JOATOS inventories what's on a server — installed software, running services, Windows roles, and available patches. These live on their own tabs on the server detail page.
Software
The Software tab lists installed packages with Name, Version, and Publisher, along with a count and the last-scan time.
- For agentless servers (SSH / WMI), select Scan packages now to inventory on demand.
- For agent-monitored servers, the software list arrives automatically on the agent's schedule.
The software here also feeds the Software inventory and Vulnerabilities matching across your estate.
Services
The Services tab has two parts:
- Monitored services — the service checks you track on this server, each with a status dot. Select one to open its detail.
- On agentless servers (SSH / WMI), a Discover services button runs an on-demand scan and lets you choose which detected services to start monitoring.
- On agent-monitored Windows servers, a read-only detected services list (name, status, start type) is reported automatically.
Roles (Windows Server)
For Windows Servers monitored by WMI or an agent, the Roles tab lists installed roles and features (display name, type, internal name). Agentless servers offer Scan roles now; agent-monitored servers refresh automatically.
Patch
The Patch tab shows available updates — missing patches with severity, the update identifier, current vs available version, whether a reboot is required, and any CVEs the update fixes. Agent-monitored servers also show installed updates.
- On agentless Linux (SSH) servers, select Check now to run an on-demand patch check.
See Patches for the fleet-wide view.
Notes & tips
- On-demand actions (Scan packages, Discover services, Scan roles, Check now) run through the site's Site Collector, so it must be online.
- Which tabs appear depends on the OS and collection method — for example, Roles is Windows-only, and Patch shows for SSH Linux and agent-monitored servers.
