Enabling and disabling modules
Many of JOATOS's features are optional modules you can switch on or off to match how your organisation works — keeping the interface focused. Manage them under Settings → Modules (admin only).
Core vs optional
A few modules are core and can't be turned off: Dashboard, Sites, Devices, Servers, and Settings.
Everything else is optional, grouped much like the sidebar — Inventory (Services, Software, Licenses), Operations (Status, Maintenance, Diagrams, Website Uptime), Assets, Domains & SSL, Insights (Reports, Tools, Logs), Security (Discovery, Credentials, Vulnerabilities, AD Audit), and the service group (Helpdesk, Workflows, Knowledge Base, Playbooks, AI Assist).
Some modules are off by default and opt-in — including Helpdesk, Workflows, Knowledge Base, Playbooks, AI Assist, and AD Audit.
Turning modules on or off
- Go to Settings → Modules.
- Toggle a module on or off. Changes are marked unsaved.
- Select Save.
A disabled module is hidden from the sidebar and pages immediately, decluttering the interface for everyone in the organisation.
Notes & tips
- Turning a module off hides its interface; it doesn't delete any data — turn it back on and your data is still there.
- Module visibility is separate from permissions — modules control what's on for the whole org; permissions control who can use what.
