Logging in and navigating
This article covers signing in to JOATOS and finding your way around the main interface.
Signing in
- Open your JOATOS web address in a browser. You'll see the JOATOS — Sign in to continue screen.
- Enter your Email and Password.
- Select Sign in.
On the sign-in screen you'll also find:
- Create an organisation — if you don't have an account yet, this starts a new organisation sign-up.
- Resend verification — resends the email-verification message if your address isn't confirmed yet.
- Try a live demo — opens a disposable demo environment if you just want to explore.
Once signed in, you land on the Dashboard.
Navigating the sidebar
The left sidebar is your main menu, grouped into sections:
| Group | Items |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Dashboard |
| Inventory | Sites, Devices, Servers, Endpoints, Services, Software, Licenses |
| Operations | Status, Website Uptime, Maintenance, Diagrams, Vulnerabilities, Patches, Tasks, Workflows, Knowledge, Playbooks, AD Audit |
| Assets | Register, Contracts, Licenses |
| Domains & SSL | Domains, SSL Certificates |
| Insights | Reports |
| Settings | Organization, Settings |
At the bottom of the sidebar, your name and email link to your profile, and there's a Sign out button.
Why your menu may look different
The sidebar only shows what applies to you. An item is hidden when:
- your role doesn't have permission to view it,
- it's an admin-only area (like Organization and Settings) and you're not an admin, or
- the module has been switched off for your organisation (see Enabling and disabling modules).
So if a guide mentions a page you can't see, check your permissions and your organisation's enabled modules.
Notes & tips
- Organization and Settings are separate items — Organization is your tenant profile, members, and plan; Settings holds system configuration such as credentials, downloads, and modules.
- Core areas — Dashboard, Sites, Devices, and Servers — can't be turned off.
